Yuya Nishimoto, the 4th prize winner of the 5th Takamatsu International Piano Competition, won the first prize at the 30th Concours International de Piano d'Epinal held in Epinal, France from March 21 to March 30 (official official piano: Sigel Kawai SK-EX).

This year's competition had 226 participants from 35 countries. In the final, where he performed Chopin's Piano Concerto No. 1 in E minor with the Orchestre National de Metz Grand Est of France conducted by Ustina Dubitsky, Mr. Nishimoto was unanimously declared the first Japanese winner in 26 years (the first Japanese male winner since the competition was established in 1970) and also won the Contemporary Music Prize.
