The July issue of the piano music magazine "Chopin" features a roundtable talk held in May. Directors general of Japan's three major international piano competitions, the Hamamatsu International Piano Competition, Sendai International Music Competition, and Takamatsu International Piano Competition, attended and discussed the way piano competitions should be and what they can offer with Mr. Gustav Alink of the Arink-Argerich Foundation.
Mr. Masamichi Tsukuda, Director of the Takamatsu International Piano Competition Office represented the competition.
This issue, "Part 1" of the talk, focuses on the purpose and management of the competition. The August issue will touch on other subjects discussed during the talk.
