Q. Deadline
* The Application Guideline says, “For contestants applying from overseas, please send your application by sending a Fax to the TIPC office (+81-87-841-3937) in advance”. But, would it be possible to send the application by email in the case where it is impossible to send it by Fax?

 A: Fax or e-mail will be all right.

Q. Would it be possible to play Piano Sonata by Rachmaninoff at Round 2?
 A: No. Music pieces by Rachmaninoff are to be performed only at Round 1 and the Final.

Q. What kind of people should I ask to sign on the application form as the person who recognizes me as the player recorded on a CD?
 A: The person who attended the recording is desirable.

Q. As for the performance pieces at Round 1 and Round 2, would it possible to play them in any order, for example, A, C, and B, regardless of the normal order, A B and C?
 A: Any order is acceptable.

Q. How can I obtain the application guideline?
 A: The application guideline can be obtained from our official web-site, “The 2nd Takamatsu International Piano Competition”. Please click the banner on the right side of the page to download the application form.

Q. Is the downloaded form the full size?
 A: The real application form has the frame for the applicant photo at the size of 5×4 cm. The application form to be downloaded was changed into a writable Excel file. Please download it to enter your information, and send the application form to us by mail.

Q. Would it be possible to play Chopin’s Etude Op10 or Op25 at Round 1 as a piece for B again, as well as for the initial selection?
 A: You can choose the same music piece(s) for both the initial selection and Round 1.

To Performance Pieces

Q. How, and in what form, is the commissioned piece to be announced?
 A: The commissioned piece for this competition at Round 3 is to be an original piece for solo piano. It is to be informed of the qualifiers.

Q. How can I find out which hotel is on the accommodations list designated by the organizers?
 A: The qualifiers will be informed by the documents with the result of the initial selection.

Q. If I turn up with my family in tow, will all the accommodation expenses be at our expense? In that case, can they stay at the same hotel designated by the organizers as I do?
 A: Your family can stay at the same hotel, but we do not offer any subsidies or reservation service. It is your responsibility to make arrangements for them.
